Introduction
Henri Belolo (born November 1936) is a French music producer active during the disco era. Together with his friend composer Jacques Morali, he created The Ritchie Family as well as their most successful group, Village People.
Belolo was born in Casablanca, Morocco. Unlike his associate Morali, Belolo is not gay, but saw Village People's gay image as a way to embody a certain partying spirit. He continues to work in France as a music producer.
