Introduction

Gill Swerts (born 23 September 1982) is a Belgian professional football player who played for RFC Seraing in the Belgian First Amateur Division in season 2016/17.

Career

Swerts is a defender who was born in Brasschaat, Belgium and made his debut in professional football, as part of the Excelsior Rotterdam squad in the 2001–2002 season. He also played for Feyenoord Rotterdam, ADO Den Haag, Vitesse Arnhem and AZ before returning to Feyenoord in January 2011. Whilst at AZ he won the 2008–09 Eredivisie.

In September 2012, Swerts signed with SønderjyskE in the Danish Superliga.

He is also known for his dive against Jetro Willems that resulted in Willems being sent off for a red card.
