Introduction

Frederic Rhinelander King (1887–1972), was an American architect, co-founder, with Marion Sims Wyeth, of the New York City architectural firm Wyeth and King.

Early life

Frederic Rhinelander King was born in 1887. He was the son of LeRoy King and the former Ledyard Rhinelander of New York and Newport, Rhode Island, and a direct descendant of Peter Stuyvesant. He was educated at St. George's School, Newport and Harvard University.

Career

King designed the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany at York Avenue and 74th Street, and the Women's National Republican Club at 3 West 51st Street, both in New York City.

Personal life and death

In 1924, King married Edith Percy Morgan (died 1968), and they had two sons, the Rev. David Rhinelander King and the Rev. Jonathan LeRoy King.

King died in 1972.
