Floriane Chinsky

Floriane Chinsky, born in Paris and ordained in Jerusalem, became Belgium's first female rabbi in 2005 at Beth Hillel in Brussels. In addition to her rabbinical degree, she has a PhD in sociology of law; the subject of her thesis was the social representations of Jewish law in France. She was removed from her rabbinical job in 2010. She became a rabbi at Chir Hadach, the Masorti congregation in Brussels, Belgium, at Neve Shalom, the Masorti congregation in Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
