Introduction
Ernest "Ernie" Barraclough was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s, and 1930s, playing at representative level for Yorkshire, and at club level for Featherstone Rovers (Heritage № 1), as a Utility Forward, or Prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums.

Ernest Barraclough won caps for Yorkshire while at Featherstone Rovers; during the 1925–26 season against Cumberland, and Lancashire.
Club career
Ernest Barraclough made his début for Featherstone Rovers as a Utility Forward on Saturday 27 August 1921.
