Introduction

Emma Stenning is a British theatre producer based in Bristol, where she is currently Executive Director of Bristol Old Vic.

Career

After reading History at Cambridge University, Emma initially worked with director, Simon Godwin, with whom she created the theatre company Straydogs. In 1999, the company transferred its production of Eurydice (which had previously enjoyed a successful run at BAC) to the Whitehall Theatre as part of a season with Oxford Stage Company. After a period working for Complicite, she took up the role of Executive Director at Battersea Arts Centre, working alongside Tom Morris, with whom she subsequently created the theatre production company Schtanhaus. Emma subsequently worked as Head of Theatre for Arts Council England London, Head of Producing for the Manchester International Festival and was a Clore Fellow. She is currently Executive Director and joint Chief Executive (with Tom Morris) of Bristol Old Vic.
