Introduction

Elijah Lamont McGuire (born June 1, 1994) is an American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Louisiana–Lafayette. McGuire rushed for 4301 yards and 42 touchdowns and caught 130 passes for 1394 yards and 10 touchdowns as a 4 year starter for the Ragin Cajuns.

Early years

McGuire was selected to the all-state first team as an athlete by The Louisiana Sports Writers Association as a senior at Vandebilt Catholic High school. He led the state of Louisiana with 2,603 rushing yards, 11.8 rushing average and 31 touchdowns while Vandebilt Catholic High school finished with a 11-2 record. He also was selected to the first team all-region honorable mention.

Professional career

McGuire was drafted 188th overall by the New York Jets in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Personal life

McGuire has earned his college degree in General Studies in December 2016.
