Introduction

Dougald "Duggie" Lochhead (16 December 1904 – 29 August 1968) was a Scottish professional football player and manager.

Career

Playing career

Lochhead played for Walsall, after signing from St Johnstone. He also played for Norwich City scoring the first ever goal at Carrow Road in a 4-3 victory over West Ham United in 1935.

Coaching career

After retiring as a player, Lochhead managed Norwich City between 1945 and 1946, and again from 1947 to 1950. Lochhead was in charge for 171 matches during that period, winning 57, losing 74 and drawing 40 games. Lochhead also signed Johnny Gavin (footballer) in 1948, who remains Norwich's all-time top goalscorer.

He also coached in Europe, including Galatasaray of Turkey, and Heracles Almelo of the Netherlands.
