

Introduction
Dmitry Volkov (Russian: Дмитрий Борисович Волков) is a businessman, investor, philosophist, contemporary art collector, actor and philanthropist. He has also been involved in various international M&A and private equity transactions, particularly in e-commerce. Dmitry is a co-founder of the Moscow Center for Consciousness Studies and a council member of the Tretyakov State Gallery Foundation.
In 1998, he co-founded Social Discovery Ventures holding and has invested in more than 50 technology projects, including TripTogether, Dating.com online dating service, and Shocase and Streetlife social networks.
Education and Science studies
Volkov graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University in 1998 and from Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University in 2006. In 2008 he received a PhD in philosophy and is currently working on his DPhil degree. He holds an Executive MBA from Skolkovo Moscow School of Management.

Hobbies & artistic activities
Dmitry's interests are in aviation, heli-skiing and piano playing. He enjoys stratospheric and aerobatic flights in sports planes and jet fighters, ski trips and playing jazz piano.
Among his projects is LoftMusic – a private lyceum and concert space with a home-like atmosphere, where interesting personalities are invited, such as well-known artists, philosophers, musicians and art collectors.
Involvement in the arts
In the spring of 2015 he supported the release of a series of albums titled " Topical Art ", dedicated to the works of contemporary Russian artists and their role in the development of national and global culture.
In the spring of 2015 Dmitry performed in a series of artistic events "A rigorous proof of the existence of the external world" with actionist and artist Oleg Kulik. In the summer of 2015, Volkov organized an expedition with Social Discovery Ventures’ employees and media representatives to The Burning Man festival, where he presented his latest project with Oleg Kulik - the "Oraculetang" installation.
In September 2016 gifted a work of art by Sergeï Bugaev-Afrika called «A John Cage» to the Centre Pompidou.
In 2017 Dmitry took part in the art festival "Burning man" once again, where he presented a co-project with Andrey Bartenev "Aliens? - Yes!" - four alien figures from 4 to 12 meters. Performance was admitted as the most wild and incredible art.
