Introduction
Debra Feuer (born 12 January 1959) is an American former film and television actress mostly active in the 70s and 80s. She is known for her roles in To Live and Die in L.A. (1985), Homeboy (1988), and as "Celeste" in the TV series Miami Vice (1988).
Early life
Debra Feuer was born as Debra Lee Feuer on January 12, 1959, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Rusty Feuer and Ron Feuer.
Her father is a musician, in particular of piano and drums, who once toured with singers Diana Ross and Paul Anka and also appeared in Elvis Presley's last shows in Las Vegas. Her mother was a dancer/showgirl in Las Vegas and had appeared in opening acts for Rat Pack singers Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. before becoming an agent.
Her brother Ian Feuer is a professional soccer player-coach based in Belgium and England. He was famous in the English Premier League (West Ham United), the Belgian national championship (where he used to play for RWD Molenbeek), and the United States National Soccer Team.
She also has a sister named Tamara.
Feuer graduated from Chaparral High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Career
Feuer made her acting debut in 1977, appearing in the role of "Debbie" in an episode of TV series Starsky and Hutch. In the following year, she was seen as "Shirl Dean" in the "Treasure Hunt/Beauty Contest" episode of the TV series Fantasy Island. The same year, she starred as "Queenie" in director Robert Butler's western comedy Lacy and the Mississippi Queen, alongside Kathleen Lloyd and Edward Andrews.
1978 also saw her film debut with the role of "Stacie" in Jane Wagner's drama Moment by Moment, starring Lily Tomlin and John Travolta.
In the following years, Feuer was seen in an episode each of such TV series as Flying High (1978), The Dukes of Hazzard (1979), MacGruder and Loud (1985), and Crime Story (1987).
In 1985, Feuer was seen in one of the primary characters in director William Friedkin's crime drama To Live and Die in L.A., alongside William Petersen, Willem Dafoe, and John Pankow.
In 1988, Feuer had a role in the first two episodes of the fifth season of Miami Vice:" Hostile Takeover" and "Redemption in Blood." She portrayed "Celeste," love interest of Detective James "Sonny" Crockett (played by Don Johnson).
Feuer's last acting credit was in Yael Russcol's short film No Pussyfooting (2000,) in which she played the role of "Joanna" alongside Natalie Karp and Carla Orlandi. After this film, she retired to family life in Los Angeles.
Personal life
Feuer has been married twice. Her first marriage was with actor Mickey Rourke from 31 January 1981 until the divorce in 1990. The two had met in 1980 while filming for Lee H. Katzin's crime/mystery Hardcase (1981) — Feuer starred as "Jane 'Stretch' Ryan" and Rourke had a bit part of "Perk Dawson." Through her marriage with Rourke, she happens to be the ex-sister-in-law of actor Joey Rourke (1954-2004).
Feuer then married cinematographer Scott Fuller (dates not known). They have one daughter, Jessica Ruby (born 1998).
Feuer is now a stay-at-home mom and a yoga teacher.
