Introduction

David Edward Moore (born November 11, 1969) is a retired American football player who over the span of his 15-year career (1992–2006) with the National Football League played for the Miami Dolphins, the Buffalo Bills, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Moore played as a tight end and fullback. Moore's last official game was the Pro Bowl in 2007 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Early life

Moore attended Roxbury High School in Succasunna, New Jersey, and was a letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and track.

College career

Moore played college football at the University of Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Panthers. He attended from 1988 to 1991, and recorded his best collegiate season in 1991 with 51 receptions, leading the Big East Conference for receptions by a tight end.

NFL career

Miami Dolphins (1992)

Moore was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 7th round of the 1992 NFL Draft. Dave Moore Appeared in one game for the Miami Dolphins during his rookie season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1993–2001)

Moore was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1992 season. He is credited with the first Buccaneer touchdown in the newly built Raymond James Stadium. According to Bucs Report, this catch is often accredited as one of the best catches in Buccaneer HistoryIn 1999, Moore became the Buccaneers starter at tight end, with 276 receiving yards and 23 receptions. Moore was the Buccaneers' starting tight end for two more seasons. In those two seasons, he amassed 64 receptions and 573 yards. He averaged 9.9 Yards per reception in 2000 and 8.1 yards per reception in 2001. He had a career high 35 receptions in 2001. Moore was released before the 2002 season and signed a multiyear contract with the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills (2002–2003)

Moore signed a multiyear contract with the Buffalo Bills before the 2002 NFL season. In his first season with Buffalo, Moore recorded 16 receptions for 141 yards. In 2003, Moore amassed 7 receptions for 82 yards.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2004–2006)

Moore signed back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004. In addition to playing tight end, he served as the long snapper from 2004 to 2006. Moore was selected to the Pro Bowl at the end of the 2006 season. He retired following the 2006 season, after playing 15 years in the NFL.

Buccaneers Radio Network

Beginning with the 2007 football season, Moore began working for the Buccaneers Radio Network. He serves as the color analyst (replacing Hardy Nickerson from 2006) and works alongside play-by-play announcer Gene Deckerhoff.

Post-NFL career

Moore hosts a fishing show on SunSports entitled "One Moore Catch" with his wife Annmarie Moore and owns a restaurant "The Island Way Grill" in Clearwater, Florida. He has also been a coach at a little league team in St. Petersburg, Florida called Azalea Bulldogs. He is currently an assistant coach for the Jesuit Tigers, in Tampa.

Dave Moore founded Moore Resources Insurance in 2007, and is CEO and President of the company.
