Introduction

Danny Myrick is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee.

Early life

Danny Myrick was born and raised in the gulf coast town of Pascagoula, Mississippi. His father was a Baptist minister and mother, a church pianist.

Coming from a musical family, Myrick got an early start in music. He played in his family's gospel band, which recorded their first album when he was 7 years old. He got his first cut at age 17 when the Dixie Melody Boys quartet recorded the song, "Jesus Is The Light".

Career

After finishing high school, Myrick moved to Nashville, Tennesse, and attended Belmont University. In 1992, he formed an American country music band named Western Flyer –– a 6 man vocal group influenced by the 70's country/rock bands the Eagles and America. Myrick was the vocalist and bass guitarist and the other members of the band were: Chris Marion (keyboards, vocals), T. J. Klay (harmonica, mandolin, vocals), Bruce Gust (drums, vocals), Steve Charles (lead guitar, vocals), and Roger Helton (acoustic guitar, banjo, vocals). The band released two albums for "Step One Records," as well as six singles.

After Western Flyer disbanded in 1997, Myrick began writing songs for other artists. He got in contact with his old friend, country musician/songwriter Jeffrey Steele and landed a 3-year publishing contract with Windswept Pacific. After a 3-year stint with Windswept Pacific, Myrick signed a new deal with Steele's Soulride Music, in 2005, where he had numerous cuts including Craig Morgan's "International Harvester" and Big and Rich's, "Loud."

Myrick has also lent his voice as a background vocalist to Blake Shelton, Montgomery Gentry (Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry), and Keith Anderson. As a songwriter, over the years, he has collaborated with several well-known country musicians including Tim McGrawJoe CockerJason Aldean, LoCash (Chris Lucas and Preston Brust), Maddie & Tae (Madison Marlow and Taylor Dye), Gloriana (Cheyenne Kimball, Rachel Reinert, Tom Gossin, and Mike Gossin), Dean Alexander, Big and Rich (Big KennyJohn Rich), Alice PeacockAnn Marie Boskovich, and Nick Hoffman.
