Introduction

Claudia Lonow is an American actress, comedian, television writer and producer.

Early life

Claudia Lonow was born and raised in a Jewish family in New York City, where she attended The High School of Music and Art, and began studying acting.

Born Claudia Rapaport, she is the daughter of JoAnne Astrow and David Rapaport, she is the half-sister of Erik Rapaport and film and television actor Michael Rapaport (The War at Home, My Name is Earl). She is the stepdaughter of Mark Lonow, whose surname she adopted professionally.

Career

Acting

Lonow is perhaps best known for her role as Diana Fairgate on the CBS series Knots Landing, in which she appeared from 1979 to 1984. She guest starred on Fantasy Island, The Love Boat and Hotel. She also appeared in Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac, a reunion miniseries of series.

Writing and producing

Lonow's behind-the-scenes career took off with her creation, co-production and writing of Rude Awakening, a television series which aired on Showtime from 1998–2001 and starred actresses Sherilyn Fenn and Rain Pryor. Lonow also created, wrote and produced the comedy series Good Girls Don't.

Lonow held writing and consulting producer credits on the TV series Less Than Perfect. She also wrote and co-executive produced the FOX series The War at Home and CBS's Accidentally on Purpose. In 2012, she created, wrote and produced the ABC sitcom How to Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) starring Sarah Chalke, Brad Garrett, and Elizabeth Perkins.
