Biography

Brendan Edwards (born 18 March 1936) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1956 to 1961 and again in the 1963 season. He won their best and fairest awardin 1960 and represented Victoria at interstate football in the same season. After he was seriously injured and he retired as a player in 1963, he founded a chain of health clubs in Melbourne and pioneered the concept of aerobic fitness in Australia.
