Introduction

Andrea Breth (born 31 October 1952 in Rieden am Forggensee, Germany) is a stage director. Breth studied German and English language and literature in the University of Heidelberg from 1970 to 1972. In 1999, she became a resident director at the Burgtheater in Vienna.

Honours

Breth won the German Critics’ Prize in 1986, the Fritz Kortner Prize in 1987, the Nestroy Prize for Best Director in 2003, and the Berlin Theater Prize in 2006.
