Introduction
Ali Benjamin is an American author and novelist and the New York Times bestselling author of The Thing About Jellyfish. She is a member of New England Science Writers.
Early life
Ali Benjamin was born Alison "Ali" Wade. She group in New York.
She is a graduate of Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. Later, she received a Masters degree in Public Administration from Baruch College, New York City.
Career
Benjamin’s debut novel in 2015, "The Thing About Jellyfish," was a finalist for the National Book Award for Young People's Literature. The novel was also a New York Times Best Seller, and the New York Times named is as one of twenty-five notable children's books of 2015. The novel is the story of a girl named Suzy who becomes convinced that her friend's accidental drowning was the result of a rare jellyfish sting and not just a random tragedy. The story follows Suzy as she decided to stop speaking in the wake of the loss and as she does whatever it takes to prove her theory correct.
The book was also released in Chinese, German and Portuguese.
She is also the cowriter of HIV-positive teen Paige Rawl’s Positive: A Memoir (2014), and American soccer player Tim Howard’s New York Times bestseller The Keeper: The Unguarded Story of Tim Howard (2014.) The Keeper was a New York Times Best Seller in sports.
In 2010, Benjamin co-authored with Beth Bader The Cleaner Plate Club, a guide for parents to help them feed their kids a healthy diet.

Benjamin lives in Williamstown, Massachusetts with her husband and two daughters.
